Message : rods, heads, pistons, etc. are not parts that wear. just like morepower2 said in his post about why there are no 800hp Z's... the main problem are the bearings and other wearable parts. the extra power will affect those. however, things like rods are good for up to a certain point (600 hp in the case of the stock ones), and will last for as long as the other main engine components will and definitely longer than the wearable parts.

weak point. If I were to put that kind of money into an engine, though, I'd want the assurance that it can handle it and not throw a rod or crack a head or blow a gasket. Plus, with the upgraded parts like lighter connecting rods, stronger valvetrain components, you can rev it up higher (8k rpm :)
